Publishers Description: This book is a personal memoir. My years in Darwin were a special time for me. They influenced me for the rest of my life. There were bad times, many good times and many special times. Darwin in the 50s and 60s was so very different from any German or, for that matter, Australian city. I have tried to preserve my recollections of the 14 years I lived in Darwin between 1958 and 1972.
